Crossmark Policy

Ebu Press Ltd is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. To support transparency and provide readers with reliable information about the status and publication history of its scholarly content, Ebu Press Ltd follows the principles of the Crossmark service developed by Crossref. Crossmark provides readers with a standardized way to identify whether a published article has been updated, corrected, or otherwise affected after its original publication.

  1. Purpose

The purpose of the Ebu Press Ltd Crossmark Policy is to:

  • Maintain the integrity and reliability of the scholarly record;
  • Provide transparent information about changes to published articles;
  • Ensure that corrections, retractions, and other post-publication updates are clearly communicated;
  • Help readers identify the current status of published scholarly content; and
  • Promote responsible and transparent scholarly publishing practices.
  1. Scope

This policy applies to scholarly articles and other eligible research content published by Ebu Press Ltd, including content published in:

  • Asian Journal of Medical and Biological Research | ISSN (Online): 2411-4472 | ISSN (Print): 2412-6571 Quarterly | Continuous Publication
  • Asian-Australasian Journal of Bioscience and Biotechnology | ISSN (Online): 2412-5571 | ISSN (Print): 2411-4472 | Triannually | Continuous Publication
  • Asian-Australasian Journal of Food Safety and Security | ISSN (Online): 2523-2983 | ISSN (Print): 2523-1073 Biannually | Continuous Publication

The policy applies to articles regardless of whether they are published in a regular issue or through the publisher’s continuous publication model.

  1. Crossmark Button

Where Crossmark is implemented, Ebu Press Ltd will display the Crossmark button on eligible article landing pages and/or article PDFs. The Crossmark button provides readers with access to the current publication status of the article and, where applicable, information concerning updates or post-publication changes. Readers should use the Crossmark information associated with an article when determining whether the article remains current or has subsequently been corrected, updated, or retracted.

  1. Publication Status

An article displaying the Crossmark button does not necessarily mean that the article has been changed. The Crossmark record indicates the article’s current status. Where no subsequent editorial action has been recorded, the Crossmark information may indicate that the article has no known updates or changes requiring notification.

  1. Corrections and Amendments

Ebu Press Ltd may publish a correction, erratum, corrigendum, or other appropriate editorial notice when an error is identified after publication. The appropriate action will depend on the nature and significance of the error. Minor errors that do not materially affect the interpretation, findings, or scholarly value of an article may be corrected through an appropriate editorial mechanism. Significant errors may require a formal correction notice linked to the original article. Where a formal correction is published, Ebu Press Ltd will establish an appropriate relationship between the original article and the correction and update the Crossmark record where applicable.

  1. Retractions

When an article is found to contain findings or circumstances that warrant retraction, Ebu Press Ltd may retract the article in accordance with its Retraction Policy and recognized standards of responsible scholarly publishing. A retracted article will normally remain part of the scholarly record but will be clearly identified as Retracted. The reason for retraction will be communicated through a formal retraction notice whenever appropriate. The Crossmark record will be updated to reflect the retraction where Crossmark functionality is applicable.

  1. Expressions of Concern

In circumstances where substantial concerns have been raised about the reliability, integrity, or validity of published research but an investigation has not yet reached a final conclusion, Ebu Press Ltd may publish an Expression of Concern. An Expression of Concern will be linked to the relevant article and, where applicable, reflected in the Crossmark record. The Expression of Concern may subsequently be supplemented or replaced by a correction, retraction, or other editorial notice once the matter has been resolved.

  1. Post-Publication Updates

Ebu Press Ltd may update article metadata or other publication information when necessary. Such updates may include:

  • Author affiliation corrections;
  • Funding information;
  • Conflict-of-interest declarations;
  • Author contribution information;
  • Data availability statements;
  • Article metadata;
  • Supplementary information; and
  • Other relevant publication information.

Where an update is substantive and relevant to the scholarly record, Ebu Press Ltd will provide an appropriate editorial record and update the Crossmark information when applicable.

  1. Version of Record

Ebu Press Ltd considers the formally published Version of Record (VoR) to be the authoritative version of an article. Any subsequent correction, amendment, retraction, or other substantive editorial action will be linked to the Version of Record so that readers can clearly identify the publication history of the article. The publisher will avoid unnecessary replacement of the Version of Record and will maintain a transparent record of substantive post-publication changes.

  1. Editorial Integrity

All post-publication decisions are made in accordance with the publisher’s editorial policies and applicable principles of publication ethics. Ebu Press Ltd may consult editors, reviewers, authors, institutional representatives, or other appropriate parties when investigating concerns about published content. Where relevant, the publisher may follow established recommendations and guidelines from organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Crossref.

  1. Metadata and Transparency

Ebu Press Ltd is committed to maintaining accurate article metadata and persistent identifiers. Where applicable, Crossmark information will be associated with the article’s DOI record. The publisher will make reasonable efforts to ensure that corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and other significant post-publication notices are appropriately linked to the affected publication.

  1. Reader and Author Notifications

Authors, readers, editors, and other stakeholders may contact Ebu Press Ltd if they identify a potential error, concern, or discrepancy affecting a published article. The publisher will assess reported concerns according to their nature and significance and will take appropriate editorial action when warranted.

  1. Policy Review

Ebu Press Ltd periodically reviews its Crossmark and post-publication policies to ensure that they remain consistent with developments in scholarly publishing, publication ethics, persistent identifier infrastructure, and Crossref practices. The publisher reserves the right to amend this policy when necessary.
